In 1992, the Palacios Mendieta family developed an educational alternative for people with disabilities in the city of Quito, following the need of their family members, a girl with the consequences of meningitis. In search of activities to develop his skills, Maestro Edgar observed his interest, excitement and ability to play the piano.
The development of artistic skills, like other skills, is generated through rehearsal, routine and perseverance. Art is a fundamental tool to channel our feelings, emotions, ways of thinking and communicating. These primordial sensations of the human being are usually limited or conditioned in people with disabilities, which is why SINAMUNE was born; to provide opportunities for development and artistic creation, focusing more on their potential than on limitations.
